There has been a spate of robberies on bike shops in the Cape town area recently. Two weeks ago Helderberg Cycle World was ram-raided with half a dozen top end bikes being stolen. Last night as we were out riding we heard that William's Bike Shop in somerset West has also been robbed. Amazingly this one happened in daylight! Apparently a bike shop in Franschhoek was also robbed a few weeks ago.

Here's a list of what was stolen:

2) Blue and White Rocky Mountain ETSX
3) 2009 Giant Anthem X1 - charcoal & silver
4) 2008 Giant Anthem 1 Blue and Silver (customer's bike)
5) Giant Fixed gear bike - black ( silver fork)

If you have any info or know anything please contact the police or William at his shop 021 8510919

Please pass this info onto any bike shops in your area, especially secondhand shops as this will help to put an end to this.

It's clear that these scum bags are well organised and seem know what they're stealing, they certainly appear to be quite choosy!
